What a wonderful day of sport in the Isle of Man. 1330 entered and more than 1100 started the 85 mile walk around the Isle of Man that is the Clerical Medical Parish Walk.

The electronic results, produced by Sport Ident and sponsored by Manx Telecom, was one of the most exciting developments in the history of athletics in the Isle of Man with updates available online within seconds of walkers passing each church.

Almost 4 miles into the walk and after a long drag out of Union Mills and up the Ballahutchin, the walkers are dropping downhill into Glen Vine ready for the first of the 17 Parish Churches at Marown.
Photos by Mike (whilst he was standing with his camera on a tripod and wearing a bright yellow top just inside the 30 miles per hour speed restricted area, motorists all seemed to drive very slowly thinking he was a policeman with a speed camera!)
